"My Intermediate Space" -
Designing A Kindergarten
I chose to explore the small, personal spaces that children love to be in. One of the important goals of kindergartens is to foster the imagination of young children. And focus on spatial design is conducive to that goal.
The kindergarten is located at Mordei ha-Geta'ot, Rishon Lezion. I created different shapes, different geometries that meet the body. I designed a main axis that starts at the front of the garden and serves as a "corrective space" that can be entered and climbed, which continues to a common foyer to the two gardens and allows seating and a pleasant entrance to the garden. The axis continues to be used for functional storage and at the end I created a “tower” that allows for an intimate space overlooking the sky. To break the usual dice game I created a variety of modular games that perform various functions such as storage compartments, partitions, small places that can be entered.
